Question This account uploaded 1000+ files without any category and meaningless names. Any objection to nuke them all? I already deleted those without a valid license (Public Domain Mark). Yann (talk) 14:10, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Bloody hell you guys move fast. I was mistaken about it being a copyvio; not sure this is the right move. Primefac (talk) 14:36, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I see their last upload is not a copyright violation, as you reported. The user, however, has a history of uploading copyright violations, some as recently as one week ago: Battle of Reichenbach.jpg, Battle of Lazikou.jpg, Christopher Del Borrello.jpg. I think the block is warranted but any admin may review their appeal and unblock if wanted. Bedivere (talk) 14:44, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The user has been unblocked and has said they will not upload copyright violations again. The last warning still stands. Bedivere (talk) 14:55, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

New user who try to delete one of my file with a complete absurd reason : Commons:Deletion requests/2024/03/16. Yes, he said a pic of a bus stop is a selfie... And I think File:Itel S23.jpg imported by this guy is a blatant copyvio. Lyon-St-Clair (talk) 18:14, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Warned user about copyright plus test editing. Re-report if they continue. —Matrix(!) {user - talk? - contributions} 20:56, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Account of User:Inigo Lim blocked indefinitely for sockpuppetry. Reuploaded previously deleted uploads made by the sockpuppeteer, unlikely own work files depicting the canonically crowned images of the Philippines, some are found in sites such as Facebook.

Perhaps there be an action regarding the user’s IP since they just keep returning and retain to the same habit. Da Boauss Ss (talk) 10:21, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done. I blocked the user indefinitely and mass deleted all her uploads as copyvios. Taivo (talk) 12:39, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your courteous dealing! --UCinternational (talk) 10:21, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm trying to update this file with a more accurate depiction of the emblem created by @MingoBerlingo as per the talk page on the original file. I cannot do that since the file can only be edited by administrators. We've tried to ask administrators to help update it but to no avail. This effort has been going on for several months. I think the file was portected for administrators only because of an editing conflict almost 15 years ago. Could an admin unprotect the file? I wouldn't mind if the file is reprotected after updating it. Colohisto (talk) 04:15, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done it's unprotected now. The worst that could happen is getting it protected again if things go wrong Bedivere (talk) 04:31, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, when I tried to update the file and am unable to, it said "This filename is currently protected from (re)uploading and can be used solely by administrators." Colohisto (talk) 06:07, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Colohisto: Hi, and welcome. You have triggered Special:AbuseFilter/290. Please read MediaWiki:abusefilter-warning-file-overwriting and Commons:Village pump/Proposals/Archive/2023/08#Limit file overwriting to users with autopatrol rights again, and request Autopatrol group membership at COM:RFR when you think you are ready (once you have made more than 500 useful non-botlike edits); having that should allow you to overwrite. That "more accurate" file should not be used until the conclusion of Commons:Deletion requests/File:Emblem of Vietnam (fixed).svg.   — 🇺🇦Jeff G. please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 10:42, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Jeff G. Hi, I already have autopatrol rights. And if you read the deletion request for that file, the user who originally filed the request eventually said that we should update the file instead of creating a new file, but hasn't formally ended the deletion request yet. User:Aiminer bot

Bot username. Problematic behaviour if this actually is a bot, as it seems to be uploading images from websites as public domain when they're probably not (although only two so far). Belbury (talk) 11:34, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Another sock of IrelandBoy

Obvious sock of IrelandBoy (see Category:Sockpuppets of IrelandBoy). Reuploading the deleted files of the previous socks. Marbletan (talk) 12:45, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

✓ Done Indeffed and uploads nuked. I'd however once again want to say that sock-tagging should be left to the block admin, or at the least placed once the block has been issued. ─ Aafī (talk) 12:52, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For obvious cases like this, it doesn't seem inappropriate to me to promptly add the {{Sock}} template that indicates the account is a "suspected" sockpuppet. But if that's the consensus for use of the template, I'll refrain from using it like that. Marbletan (talk) 13:35, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
My understanding is that COM:Sockpuppetry redirects to en-wiki - en:Wikipedia:Sockpuppetry, where if one scrolls down leads to en:WP:SOCKTAG which has a chronological guidance on how blocks/tags should be placed wrt sockpuppetry. Tagging comes after block. That's what I want to say. However, I do believe there should be a common guidance available at Commons as well. ─ Aafī (talk) 14:06, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'll initiate a discussion for this surely. ─ Aafī (talk) 14:06, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Per User talk:HOWDMMF, multiple Copyvio violations and continues regardless. CeltBrowne (talk) 23:45, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
