Nikolaev ec06ffa5[edit]

Hello. I need reupload rights to continue work with road signs diagrams. Thank you. Nikolaev_ec06ffa5 (talk) 10:09, 16 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I edit maps of ongoing conflicts and permission to overriting files would help me Thank you. Borysk5 (talk) 20:56, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

RiedleroD[edit]

I often optimize SVG files while making sure they still work with wikimedia's ancient librsvg renderer. See user page. I optimized one of the fediverse logos and would like to upload it (19KB→2KB) Thank you. RiedleroD (talk) 16:10, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
On one hand, your edit count is still rather low, but on the other hand, your overwrites seem to be fine. I might need to think about this a little. Abzeronow (talk) 16:17, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I would like to see more activity from this user. They seem to be contributing positively, by the way. Bedivere (talk) 03:18, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, those are my feelings as well. Abzeronow (talk) 15:58, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
unfortunately I'm in my final year of school rn and don't have much time to contribute in general. I'd love to start picking up the pace in a few months when I'm done though RiedleroD (talk) 15:34, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not done please reapply later. You're on good track :-) Bedivere (talk) 15:44, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
oki. is there a certain number of edits that you would consider an appropriate amount? RiedleroD (talk) 10:17, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
At least 200 (guideline says 500 but I'm willing to be flexible on that). Abzeronow (talk) 17:26, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

PancoPinco[edit]

Hi, I ask permission to continue overwriting public domain art images with others of better quality, or complete and or at higher resolution. Thank you some much. --PancoPinco (talk) 13:04, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@PancoPinco: Significant changes should be uploaded as new files, per COM:OVERWRITE. Files like File:Floriano Pietrocola - Ritratto di Maria Adelaide d'Asburgo Lorena (1822-1855).jpg, File:Marion Graves Anthon Fish.jpg, File:Arabella Huntington.jpg, and File:Juliane Franziska von Hessen-Homburg, Fürstin Nassau-Siegen.jpg, for example, should all have been uploaded as new files. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 21:19, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Applicant has had a month to respond and has not done so, so closing as not done. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 22:14, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Kirt93[edit]

I maintain articles related to Polish highways - en:Highways in Poland and articiles related to particular roads. Part of this effort requires updating the .svg files with maps of particular highways. Modifications of such files are required frequently when new sections get opened or enter construction: Special:Contributions/Kirt93 Thank you. Kirt93 (talk) 18:09, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not done little activity, please make overwrite requests and request the right again in due course. Bedivere (talk) 18:13, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, please consider that I have a lot of activity related to the topic on English Wikipedia, and only some part of this effort is related to Commons specifically: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/Kirt93 It seems requesting overrites for each .svg change going in line with each article change would be pointless and also create discrepancies when the articile and the .svg map for this articile would not be in sync. Kirt93 (talk) 18:18, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'd probably approve you in a month or two if you had some more edits (user also has autoreview right on Polish Wikipedia). Abzeronow (talk) 18:34, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks Kirt93 (talk) 21:26, 15 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

人人生來平等[edit]

I optimize or adjust SVG files from time to time. For example, I would like to replace "ROC National Museum of Prehistory Seal.svg" with a new version of background removing. Thank you. --人人生來平等 TALK 07:33, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

JustThatNerdyNerd[edit]

Hi! I'm looking for the autopatrol right to overwrite Cyclone Track maps, which (as you can imagine) need to be updated quite often. Thank you. JustThatNerdyNerd (talk) 06:47, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Dactylantha[edit]

I would like to apply a deletion notice in bulk to a category of images that I am appealing to be removed due to incorrect copyright status - Category:Images_from_Auckland_Museum_marked_with_cultural_permissions as per my request at Commons:Deletion_requests/Category:Images_from_Auckland_Museum_marked_with_cultural_permissions. There are ~2500 images requiring this notice as per the deletion request requirements, and OpenRefine seems untenable as a batch editing option as the reconciliation service currently has a bug that has stopped me from doing any editing to that category. Of course, if there is an alternative to AutoWikiBrowser I would be happy to hear it - anything is better than copy and pasting 2500 times! Thank you. Dactylantha (talk) 01:47, 21 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Dactylantha, you could request that job to be done on Commons:Bots/Work requests. --Achim55 (talk) 18:31, 29 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

TheImaCow[edit]

Category:US National Archives series: "Airscapes" of American and Foreign Areas contains ~10,000 images which have "1917 – 1964" as date=* in their information template - only the general range the images were made in. I would like to change this to the exact date of the image. The exact dates are almost always part of the scanned image. Also, many images are tagged with author=unknown, but the name of the author is stated on the scan. AWB would be perfect for this task. Thank you. TheImaCow (talk) 21:02, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

2003 LN6[edit]

I would like to apply for the Filemover right to rename file errors in tracks. I have just over 850 contributions, however that is due to greatly increase in the near future because I am attempting to recolor tropical cyclone tracks. I have made around ten file move requests as of the time of this request. Thank you. 2003 LN6 (talk) 17:57, 23 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@2003 LN6: Has there been a discussion about these moves and recolors to determine a consensus for them? If so can you please point us towards it? Thanks, The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 09:16, 25 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
New tracks need new files, under the name "path". I am attempting to synchronize the storm names in each basin, specifically with the depression numbers. The original color change discussions can be found here. There are major inconsistencies within the storm names themselves; for example: File:1-L 1988 track.png and File:03-L 1974 track.png. The current format uses the second example, note the leading 0. In addition, I would like to synchronize old storm images (example: Category:Typhoon Maemi's image formats do not follow the modern format of {storm name} {date in YYYY-MM-DD} {time in XXXXZ}.{file extension}). 2003 LN6 23:38, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Nyuhn[edit]

I am requesting the Filemover right so I can fix mistakes in the filenames of Lingua Libre pronunciations.
For example, first 266 items from that category are using translations/explanations/romanizations instead of the real term. Due to this reason, Wiktionary bots (en, pl, ru) cannot auto-import them.
I got 8 accepted renaming requests and 5 are ongoing. Thank you. Nyuhn (talk) 21:35, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Although I've granted you recently autopatroller rights, given your low edit count I would like to see more activity before granting you this right. I'm sure you will do fine so come back in one month or two. Bedivere (talk) 02:08, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So should I mark these 266 items with {{Rename}} and that's it? Nyuhn (talk) 02:55, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, I am asking for continuing activity. If you can increase your edit count, for example, by making other valid edits, I'd be fine with that. I don't want to think this is some kind of hat collecting since your request of autopatrolled was made so recently, so that's why I ask 1) more time of activity (one or two months is fine) 2) more activity Bedivere (talk) 03:38, 14 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Nyuhn: Yes, and someone will come and rename them. --SHB2000 (talk) 00:03, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

JustThatNerdyNerd[edit]

Hi! While I'm requesting things, I might as well request Filemover permissions. Again, this will be used for renaming Tropical Cyclone path files when they form into TCs. E.g. when 08U forms, I'd change the name from '08U 2024 path.png' to 'Neville 2024 path.png' Thank you. JustThatNerdyNerd (talk) 06:49, 19 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

TheAafi (DCW)[edit]

Hello, subject to our semi-annual activity plan, we plan to do some photographic campaigns related to our Heritage Lens initiative. This requires me to help set up some upload wizard campaigns timely to have the processes run smoothly. To reiterate, I am a sysop on this project, voluntarily contributing as Aafi, however, I do not want to mix my edits that I do for DCW with my volunteer contributions. Best regards and thank you.
