Von Gnade singt mein Herz in Not,
und Trost durchströmt mich ganz.
Ich war gelähmt von Schuld und Tod;
jetzt schau ich Gottes Glanz.

Die Gnade zeigte mir mein Bild,
entstellt von Gier und Scham,
und Gnade hat die Furcht gestillt,
als Jesus zu mir kam.

Ich ging durch Prüfung und Gefahr,
traf manche falsche Wahl.
Doch weil die Gnade mit mir war,
fand ich durchs dunkle Tal.

Was Gottes Gnade mir verspricht,
geht über die Vernunft.
Es lehrt sein Wort, sein Geist, sein Licht
von Jesu Wiederkunft.

Wenn alles Zeitliche vergeht
samt allem Erdenschein,
ist's Jesu Kreuz, das ewig steht,
wird Gnade alles sein.
