File:Time Zones of Africa.png[edit]

This PNG file which is a duplicate of File:Time Zones of Africa.svg was also uploaded with an obsolete version from the same SVG file and has not been updated once. The original uploader did not identify himself or herself as the orginal author of this file. As the original SVG version is up to date and is a better quality, this obsolete PNG file should be redirected to that file. Maphobbyist (talk) 16:35, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The statement about “duplicate” (read: a trivial SVG-converter derivative) doesn’t look true. None of revisions of Time_Zones_of_Africa.svg since October 8 contains a strange reddish online of Namibia, whereas before that date in 2017 Egypt wasn’t (bright) yellow. 1. that red line is most likely conversion and export error, 2. Egypt was bright yellow on the map from 2016. C933103 (talk) 19:11, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
My bad. Hence, the PNG likely resulted from a clumsy attempt to update https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/archive/e/e0/20171008081600!Time_Zones_of_Africa.svg Delete. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 19:59, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Delete: The map has been uploaded with out of date time zones (i.e. Sudan) and is clumsily colored (i.e. DR Congo and Namibia). The PNG file should be directed to the updated SVG file, which is better in case of updates. --Saguamundi (talk) 21:03, 11 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
